| Russia's inflation amounted to 2.3 percent in January 2008 compared to 1.7 percent during the same month in 2007 and 1.1 percent in December 2007, the Russian Federal State Statistics Service reported today.|
Prices on services climbed 5.4 percent and food prices rose 1.9 percent in January 2008. In nine Russian regions consumer price growth was more than 3 percent. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, consumer price index stood at 102.7 percent and 102 percent, respectively. Russia's core inflation amounted to 1.1 percent.
